Novena of Abandonment to God

Novena of Abandonment to God

Day One

Why do you confuse yourselves by worrying?  Leave the care of your affairs to Me, and everything will be peaceful.  I say to you in truth that every act of true, blind, and complete surrender to Me produces the effect that you desire and resolves all difficult situations.

“O Jesus, I surrender myself to You; take care of everything!”
(Repeat 3 – 10 times)

Day Two

To surrender to Me does not mean to fret, to be upset, or to lose hope, nor does it mean offering to me a worried prayer asking Me to follow  you and change your worry into prayer.  It is against this surrender, deeply against it to worry, to be nervous and to desire to think about the consequences of anything.  It is like the confusion that children feel when they ask their mother to see to their needs, and then try to take care of those needs for themselves so that their childlike efforts to get in their mother’s way.

To surrender means to placidly close the eyes of the soul, to turn away from thoughts of tribulation and put yourself in my care, so that only I act, saying, “You take care of it.”

“O Jesus, I surrender myself to You; take care of everything.!”
(Repeat 3 – 10 times)

Day Three

How many things I do when the soul, in so much spiritual and material need, turns to Me and says to Me; “You take care of it,”  then closes its eyes and rests.  In pain you pray for Me to act, but that I act in the way you want.  You do not turn to Me; instead, you want Me to adapt to your ideas.  You are not sick people who tell the doctor how to.  So do not act this way, but pray as I taught you in the “Our Father”: “Hallowed by thy Name”; that is, be glorified in my need.  “Thy kingdom come”; that is, let all that is in us and in the world be in accord with Your kingdom.  “Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”; that is, in our need, decide as You see fit for our temporal and eternal life.

If you say to me truly: “Thy will be done,” which is the same as saying: “You take care of it”, I will intervene with all my omnipotence, and I will resolve the most difficult situations.

“O Jesus, I surrender myself to You; take care of everything.”
(Repeat 3 – 10 times)

Day Four

You see evil growing instead of weakening?  Do not worry.  Close your eyes and say to me with faith: “Thy will be done; You take care of it.”  I say to you that I will take care of it and that I will intervene as a doctor and I will accomplish miracles when they are needed.  Do you see the sick person is getting worse? Do not be upset, but close your eyes and say, “You take care of it.”  I say to you that no medicine more powerful that My loving intervention.  By My love, I promise this to you.

“O Jesus, I surrender myself to You; take care of everything.”
(Repeat 3 -  10 times)

Day Five

And when I must lead you on a path different from the one you see, I will prepare you; I will carry you in My arms; I will let you find yourself, like children who have fallen asleep in their mother’s arms, on the other bank of the river.  What troubles you and hurts you immensely is your reason, your thoughts and worry, and your desire at all costs to deal with what afflicts you.

“O Jesus I surrender myself to You; take care of everything.”
(Repeat 3 – 10 times)

Day Six

You are sleepless; you want to judge everything and see to everything and you surrender to human strength-or worse, to men themselves, trusting in their intervention.  This is what  hinders My words and My views.  Oh how much I wish from you this surrender, to help you, and how I suffer when I see you so agitated!  Satan tries to do exactly this: to agitate you and to remove you from my protection and to throw you into the jaws of human intiative.  So, trust only in Me, rest in Me, surrender to Me in everything.

“O Jesus, I surrender myself to You; take care of everything.”
 (Repeat 3 – 10 times)

Day Seven

I perform miracles to proportion to your full surrender to Me and to you not thinking of yourselves.  I sow treasure troves of graces when you are in the deepest poverty.  No person of reason, no thinker, has ever performed miracles, not even among the saints.  He does divine works whosoever surrenders to God.  So don’t think about it anymore, because your mind is acute and it is very hard to see evil and to trust in Me and to not think of yourself.  Do this for all your needs; do this, all of you, and you will see great, continual, silent miracles.  I will take care of things; I promise this to you.

“O Jesus, I surrender myself to You; take care of everything.”
(Repeat 3 – 10 times)

Day Eight

Close your eyes and let yourself be carried away on the flowing current of my grace; close your eyes and do not think of the present, turning your thoughts away for the future just as you would temptation.  Repose in Me believing in My goodness, and I promise you by My love that if you say “You take care of it,” I will take care of it all; I will console you, liberate you and guide you.

“O Jesus, I surrender myself to You; take care of everything.”
(Repeat 3 – 10 times)

Day Nine

Pray always, in readiness to surrender, and you will receive from it great peace and great rewards, even when I confer on you the grace of immolation, of repentance and of love.  They what does surrfering matter?  It seems impossible to you?  Close your eyes and say with all your soul, “Jesus, you take care of it.”  Do not be afraid; I will tatke care of things and you will bless My Name by humbling yourself.  A thousand prayers cannot equal one single act of surrender; remember this well.  There is no novena more effective than this:

“O Jesus, I surrender myself to You; take care of everything.”
(Repeat 3 – 10 times)

O Blessed Virgin Mary, my Mother  I am yours now and forever.
Through you and with you I always want
to belong completely to Jesus.

The Origins & Prayer of Our Lady of Good Remedy

Our Lady of Good Remedy, pray for us!

I have been faithfully reciting the Novena prayer for special intentions for nearly a year now.  I was curious as to the origin of the title  Our Lady of Good Remedy…. And I found the answer!

The following was copied from the America Needs Fatima website which I highly recommend you go to and share with everyone! https://www.americaneedsfatima.org/Our-Blessed-Mother/our-lady-of-good-remedy-novena.html

Muslim slave trade

For many centuries, Muslim fleets seized Catholic ships and invaded Catholic lands and took away men, women and children into slavery. The Catholic population in many countries, especially in Italy, Spain and Portugal lived in constant fear of being carried off into slavery. France, Britain, Holland, Ireland, and even Iceland suffered similar attacks and some of their population were captured and sold in the Islamic slave market of North Africa and the Middle East.

Muslim slave trade
It was perilous in the extreme to their eternal salvation for Catholics to live as slaves in Muslim society because of their grossly immoral customs. Women were in special danger because they were habitually sold into Muslim harems.

But God did not leave His people unaided. He inspired several religious institutions to work towards the rescue of the Catholic slaves from their Muslim slave masters.

One of these was the Trinitarian Order, which was founded by Saint John Matha in 1198. This Order was founded to redeem Catholic slaves from the Islamic slave markets and to set them free.

St. John Matha
However, only by raising large sums of money could the Trinitarians carry out their mission of buying back Catholic slaves. To be successful in raising such huge sums of money, they confided their fundraising efforts to the merciful protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

And She did not let them down. In fact, the Mother of God was so generous in answering their pleas for funds, that they called Her "Our Lady of Good Remedy."

And so, the Trinitarians were able to free many slaves from the bondage of slavery and, above all, to free them from the moral evils of sin that was prevalent in those decadent Muslim societies.

Today, we need Our Lady’s help more than ever in our personal lives, to resolve complicated personal situations and to find solutions for troubles we face in our families.

Above all, we need Our Lady of Remedy's powerful intercession to help us turn back the rising tide of radical Islamic Terrorism that is destabilizing the world. Our country and the world desperately need Our Lady’s powerful and unfailing help.

Our Lady of Good Remedy Novena

O QUEEN OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, Most Holy Virgin, we venerate thee. Thou art the beloved Daughter of the Most High God, the chosen Mother of the Incarnate Word, the Immaculate Spouse of the Holy Spirit, and the Sacred Vessel of the Most Holy Trinity.

O Mother of the Divine Redeemer, who under the title of Our Lady of Good Remedy comes to the aid of all who call upon thee, extend thy maternal protection to us. We depend on thee, Dear Mother, as helpless and needy children depend on a tender and caring mother.
Hail, Mary....

O LADY OF GOOD REMEDY, source of unfailing help, grant that we may draw from thy treasury of graces in our time of need.

Touch the hearts of sinners, that they may seek reconciliation and forgiveness. Bring comfort to the afflicted and the lonely; help the poor and the hopeless; aid the sick and the suffering. May they be healed in body and strengthened in spirit to endure their sufferings with patient resignation and Christian fortitude.
Hail, Mary....

DEAR LADY OF GOOD REMEDY, source of unfailing help, thy compassionate heart knows a remedy for every affliction and misery we encounter in life. Help me with thy prayers and intercession to find a remedy for my problems and needs, especially for... (Mention your intentions here).

O loving Mother, on my part, I pledge to adopt a more intensely Christian lifestyle, to a more careful observance of the laws of God, to be more conscientious in fulfilling the obligations of my state in life, and to strive to be a source of healing in this broken world of ours.

Dear Lady of Good Remedy, be ever present to me, and through thy intercession, may I enjoy health of body and peace of mind, and grow stronger in the faith and in the love of thy Son, Jesus.
Hail, Mary.....

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of Good Remedy,

R. That we may deepen our dedication to thy Son, and make the world alive with His Spirit.

Our Mother of Perpetual Help (Our Lady of Perpetual Help) Prayers

Mother of Perpetual Help, pray for us!

Novena Prayer

Dear Mother of Perpetual Help * from the cross Jesus gave you to us for our Mother. You are the kindest the most loving * of all mothers. Look tenderly on us your children * as we now ask you to help us in all our needs * especially this one … (Pause to recall your petition). While you were on earth, dear Mother * you willingly shared in the sufferings of your Son. Strengthened by your faith and confidence * in the fatherly love of God * you accepted the mysterious designs of His will.

Prayer for the Home

Mother of Perpetual Help * we choose you as Queen of our homes. We ask you to bless all our families * with your tender motherly love. May the Sacrament of Marriage * bind husbands and wives so closely together * that they will always be faithful to each other * and love one another as Christ loves his Church.

We ask you to bless all parents. May they love and cherish the children * whom God has entrusted to them. May they always give them the example * of a truly Christian life. Help them to bring up their children * in the love and fear of God. Bless all children * that they may love, honor and obey * their fathers and mothers. To your loving care * we especially entrust the youth of today.

Give us all a sense of responsibility * that we may do our part * in making our home a haven of peace * like your own home at Nazareth. We take you as our model. Help us to grow daily in genuine love of God and neighbor * so that justice and peace may happily reign * in the entire family of mankind. Amen.

It has pleased the Father * that in you all his fullness should dwell * and that through you * he should reconcile all things to himself. Grant us the grace to be truly grateful * for all that our Father has done for us. Grant that we may be truly sorry for our sins * and do penance for them.

Through you, we thank the Eternal Father for the gift of life. He has created all the wonderful things of this world for us. May we learn to use them well * so that through them * we may grow in love for Him.

Above all, we thank our Father * for sending you to us * as the greatest expression of his love * to save us and all creation * by your death and resurrection.

We thank you Lord * for giving us your own Mother to be our Mother of Perpetual Help. May the countless favours we have received through her intercession, * and especially through the Novena * inspire us to greater confidence in God’s loving mercy * and her perpetual help. Grant that we may always do the holy Will of God * and persevere in his love.

To the Most Holy Trinity * Father, Son and Holy Spirit * be honour, glory and thanksgiving forever and ever. Amen.

Silent Prayer (Pause)

Prayer for the Sick

Lord Jesus Christ * you bore our sufferings and carried our sorrows * in order to show us clearly * the value of human weakness and patience; * graciously hear our prayers for the sick. Grant that those who are weighed down * with pain and other afflictions of illness * may realize that they are among the chosen ones * whom you call blessed. Help them to understand * that they are united with you in your sufferings * for the salvation of the world. Amen.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help and sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I hasten to you. O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you, I come; before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, do not despise my petition, but in your mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

 Prayer for Financial Aid

Realizing, dear Mother, that you are our perpetual help, not only in spiritual but also in temporal necessities, we ask you to help us in our present financial worry. Because of unavoidable circumstances which have arisen in our lives, we are in great want and financial embarrassment, since we are unable to meet our honest debts. We are not asking, dearest Mother of Perpetual Help, for wealth, if the possession of it is not in accordance with the will of God; we merely ask you for that assistance which will help us to settle our present obligations. We believe, dear Mother of God, that you are extremely kind and generous to all your loving and devoted children. We plead with you, therefore, dear Mother, to obtain for us the help we so urgently need. We are trying so earnestly to solve our problem but we believe in your powerful intercession with Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son and our Redeemer. Amen.

Temptation

Mary, my Mother, your love for us could not be greater or more powerful. You are rich in love and your power brings us relief. You want everyone to be saved. I beg you therefore, protect me in temptation and strengthen me when I weaken. I struggle daily to be faithful to Jesus your son. Help me my Mother at every moment. But above all take me by the hand when you see that I am weakening and about to fall. I will have to battle with temptation till the day I die. My Lady, you are my hope, my refuge, my strength; never let me lose the grace of God. In every temptation I resolve to turn to you at once and pray: Mary help me. (St. Alphonsus)

Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe by John Paul II

Eighteenth-century painting of God the Father fashioning the image

Queen of the Americas
Patroness of the Unborn

This novena (prayers for nine days) can be said at any time, but especially between December 3 to December11)
Feast Day of
Our Lady of Guadalupe is December 12.

O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of the true God
 and Mother of the Church!
You, who from this place reveal your clemency
and your pity to all who ask for your protection:

Hear the prayer that we address to you with filial
trust, and present it to your Son Jesus, our sole Redeemer.
Mother of Mercy, Teach of hidden and silent sacrifice,
to you, who come to meet us sinners, we dedicate to you
our life, our work, our joys, our infirmities and our sorrows.

Grant peace, justice and prosperity to our people;
For we trust to your care all that we have and all that we are,
 Our Lady and Mother.

We wish to be entirely yours and to walk with you along
 the way of complete faithfulness
to Jesus Christ in His Church;

Hold us always with your loving hand.
Virgin of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas,
We pray for all the Bishops, that they may lead the faithful
Along the paths of intense Christian life,
Of love and humble service of God and souls.

Contemplate this immense harvest,
and intercede with the Lord
That He may instill a hunger for holiness
in the whole People of God,
And grant abundant vocations of priests
and religious, strong in faith
And zealous dispensers of God’s mysteries.

Grant to our homes the grace of loving and respecting life
In it’s beginnings, with the same love
with which you conceived in your womb
The life of the Son of God.

Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Fair Love,
protect our families,
So that they may always be united,
and bless the upbringing of our children.

Our Hope, look upon us with compassion,
teach us to go continually to Jesus

And, if we fall, help us to rise again,
to return to Him, by means of the confession
Of our faults in the Sacrament of Penance,
which gives peace to the soul.

We beg you to grant us a great love for
all the Holy Sacraments, which are,
The signs that your Son left on earth.

Thus, Most Holy Mother, with the peace
of God in our conscience,
With our hearts free from evil and hatred,
We will be able to bring to all, true joy and true peace,
Which come to us form your Son,  Jesus Christ,
Who with God the Father and the Holy Spirit,
Lives and reigns forever.
Amen.
